Wasn’t It Yahoo that Merged With Bing? That’s the first question that came to my mind when I saw the new Google interface. As far as I’m concerned, the new interface looks a little too much like Bing’s which came out months ago.
We all know that Google makes a successful effort to out-do just about everyone in just about any arena they can get into… but out-Binging Bing? It just feels weird.
There is nothing wrong with the new interface. It’s as functional and user-friendly as the old interface was. The search navigation tools are now on the left. Little else has changed.
The bigger concern for SEO isn’t the interface-lift. It’s actually the Caffine that’s going on behind the scenes that gives cause for alarm.
At about 80% complete, Google’s new Caffine algorithm is significantly altering search engine results. For SEO purposes, this has been pretty frustrating and we’ll be glad when they’re through.
