Social Media tips for Dentists

Sharing is caring!

If you are a Dentist or work in a Dentist’s office and you aren’t currently using social media for your business, you need to start now! Almost all of your clients will be on Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, Pinterest, and Linkedin and you need to be on them too. There are MANY benefits for small businesses using social media-the main one being that it is free! (Unless you choose to advertise).

Once you have your social media accounts up and running you need to know how to use them. The following tips will help you generate great content and increase your followers.medium_242049916

Pictures, Pictures, Pictures

Pictures are by far the most shared and liked form of content on Facebook and Twitter. Videos are ok, links are so so and generic text status updates are off limits. If you want your followers to like your posts and share them, you need to use pictures!

Don’t be afraid to share pictures of your employees and your office. You can use your social media accounts to help your current and potential clients get to know your staff better so they are more comfortable using your service.

A great way to generate new followers and new customers is to run small contests for a free dental exam. These contests can range from referral contests, to photo caption contests. Be creative, but make sure that you follow Facebook’s terms and conditions for contests.

Most people do not go to the Dentist nearly as often as they should. They need regular dental advice and having blog is the perfect way to do this. A blog gives you the chance to show that you are an expert and it allows your followers to receive vital information. Don’t be afraid to have some fun with your blog as well.

Ask For Likes and Reviews

Don’t be afraid to ask your followers to like posts or to leave reviews on your page. If you get a great review, great, share it. If you get a negative review DO NOT DELETE IT! Use a negative review as an opportunity to show your followers how you handle unhappy clients. Be professional and polite and solve the issue. One negative review that has been dealt with correctly does much more for your image than a bunch of positive reviews.

Be Funny

People use social media for entertainment–so entertain them! Post jokes, funny pictures, memes, funny videos, or anything else that you can think of. These posts will get shared more than other posts and they will help your followers like you more. No one wants to go visit a dentist that doesn’t have a sense of humor!

There are several other things you can try, but the number one thing to remember is to be creative. Try these ideas or your own out and let us know how it goes!
