So you have your site up and running. Now you want Google to crawl your site. Here are some tips on how to get Google crawlers to your site on a regular basis.
-Update content on a regular basis. Try to update your site daily. If this is not possible, try to update your content at least three times a week. After you update your site, make sure to ping Google. If you use WordPress, you don’t have to worry about this. It will do it for you automatically after you update your site. Updating your content regularly will bring the crawlers to your site more often.
-Check to make sure your server is running smoothly and correctly. Google does not like slow servers. Also, if your server gives the crawler an error, the crawler will more than likely skip your site.
-Page load time. You want the crawler to be able to crawl your site fast and smooth. Try and keep big files to a minimum. Besides, if your site takes a long time to load, there is a good chance the reader will lose interest in your site and leave.
-Get links from sites that are crawled often.
-Add a sitemap
-Make sure you have good meta and title tags
-Take a look at the Google crawl rate for your site. This will help you figure out what is working and what is not.
