Following everyone’s faithful following today of the #EpicProvoAnnouncement hashtag on Twitter, Mayor John Curtis of Provo announced today that Google Fiber will be brought to Provo city. Thus far, Google Fiber has only been planned for three cities: Austin, Texas; Kansas City, Kansas; and Kansas City, Missouri. No doubt this ultra-fast speed internet will benefit the large student population of Provo immensely.

Google Fiber general manager Kevin Lo said that Provo caught its attention because of the desire for fiberoptic internet before it was even in demand. This, along with Provo’s high density of small businesses, is the reason the city will now benefit from ubiquitous broadband service.

More news to come, but we wanted to celebrate this moment in the Provo internet marketing industry.
