Common Hope provides impoverished people in Guatemala with opportunities for better lives.
It partners with children, families and communities who want to participate in a process of development to improve their lives through education, health care and housing. Social workers collaborate with participating families to develop specific plans that address their basic needs and foster self-sufficiency.
OCD Chicago
The mission of the OCD Chicago is to increase public and professional awareness about OCD, educate and support people with OCD and their families, and encourage research into new treatments and a cure. This nonprofit is dedicated to assuring people with OCD that they are not alone and helping them manage and overcome this potentially devastating neurobiological disorder.
The Greater Chicago Food Depository
The Greater Chicago Food Depository is a not-for-profit food distribution and training center that provides food for hungry people and works to give men, women and children the tools necessary to break their individual cycles of poverty. Last year the organization distributed the equivalent of more than 95,000 meals every day.

UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund, is the largest international source of funds providing women’s health care and promoting gender equality around the world. The agency helps governments, at their request, formulate policies and strategies to reduce poverty and support sustainable development. Americans for UNFPA is non-partisan charitable organization dedicated to building American support for the work of UNFPA.
Tsunami Relief Fund in Honor of Ben Abels
The fund was created in memory of Ben Abels, a much-loved young man who was lost to the December 2004 tsunami while vacationing on the island of Phi Phi off the coast of Thailand. It provides humanitarian, rehabilitation and reconstruction aid to the people affected by the unprecedented disaster. Relief continues to be a pressing need so communities can rebuild infrastructure, schools, hospitals and affordable homes.
Evanston Animal Shelter/C.A.R.E.
C.A.R.E. is the Community Animal Rescue Effort, a not-for-profit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to promoting the humane treatment of domestic pets through public education and active involvement with the abused and abandoned animals brought to the Evanston Animal Shelter.
