Is that even a question?
World wide, there are over 300 million online searches performed each day. The majority of those being performed on either Google, Bing, or Yahoo. Each of those three search engines allow anyone to advertise on their search engine results pages through pay-per-click (PPC) advertising for a fee that is only charged when someone clicks on an ad. The ads that are placed on the results pages are based on the amount an advertiser is willing to pay, and by relevance of the keyword that was entered into the search box.
That makes this form of advertising very different from any other form of advertising out there. You don’t pay per impressions. You only pay when someone clicks on your ad and actually arrives at your website!
What does all this mean for the average Joe?
It means that if you run a small business or company, and have a website, you could be very successful at getting your target market to your home page for a very cheap price. Not only will this increase traffic to your site, but it will eliminate those that go to your site by accident instead of thinking it is something else. You will want to make sure, however, to make sure your site is designed so that when someone enters it, there will be a way to turn them into a customer/client in order to help your ROI.
So, those of you from the prehistoric time, keep doing what your doing. It wont be successful. Those of you that want business and want a great ROI, use PPC. You can’t go wrong!
