Social Media Marketing is open to all peoples in all places. Even President Obama and the White House understand the importance and power these tools can have on public opinion. With the next Presidential Campaign inching closer and closer, many politicians are turning to social media devices in order to increase their popularity.
Numerous politicians are beginning to understand the effectiveness and cost efficiency of social media tools. Many who might not have as big a campaign budget as say, the President, will now have the ability to reach out to millions of people at a very low cost. This is good news to those who are familiar and integrated into the social media world, and bad news for the late majority and excessive traditionalists. One of the main appeals of using social media is the personal relationship it builds. Sites such as Twitter, Facebook, Foursquare and LinkedIn give citizens the ability to speak directly with politicians so they can be sure their voices are listened to, or at least heard.
However, this is not a one way friendship. These social media sites are also looking to benefit from the government using their services. Recently President Obama created a Foursquare account, a less popular social media site. As a result Foursquare has made it know that, “The White House is now on Foursquare.” You can bet that that alone will create a buzz around their site and bring in some new users. The relationship between social media sites and politicians definitely goes both ways.
With all these social media tools being used in the current Presidential Campaign, who is your bet to be the next President of the United States? Let us know below.
