A great way to bring attention and traffic to your blog is through setting up a Google Authorship. What this does is connects your Google Plus profile with your blog. It’s really an easy thing to do but it’s usefulness will go a long way. Here’s some easy steps:

 

Step 1

This should go without saying but you need a Google Plus profile. Even if you don’t intend to use many of its features, you need it. Simply go to plus.google.com and follow the instructions they give you and make sure to have a recognizable head shot.

Step 2

Next, you’ll need to list your blog as one you contribute to. log in to your profile and select ‘Edit Profile’. In the ‘Links’ box, click ‘Edit’

Then lick ‘Add Custom Link’ paste your blog’s URL in and click ‘Save’

Step 3

A byline including your name will need to be on each page of your content. (for example, “By Michael McClain”)
This is what Google’s bots look for when your posts are crawled. Make sure the name you use in the byline is the one you have on your Google Plus profile.
