If you haven’t been keeping up with the latest tactics of Facebook and Google, here’s an update:

Facebook has removed all mention of Google’s Gmail service from its “Find your Friends” feature. If you want to find friends from Skype, AIM, Windows Live Hotmail, Yahoo, AOL, Comcast, MSN, sbcglobal or verizon.net you can, but you won’t see Google’s Gmail as an option.

Facebook appears to be drawing a line in the sand, and seems confident that internet users will come to the Facebook side. With the launch of their new message center, Facebook seems to do no wrong with its faithful user base. Reports show that over the last year, Facebook’s traffic has gone up 60%, snagging 25% of page views and 10% of internet visits in the U.S.

Has Facebook gone too far? Will their unprecedented growth continue? For now, it seems, there is no stopping “The Zuck” and his $35 billion internet force.
