Every so often an app or add-on comes along and blows peoples’ minds, changing how they do things. Sometimes, it’s a social-life changing program like Facebook. Other times it’s an app that watches over your nextdoor neighbor and your community. Sometimes, it’s a simple browser extension that can save you some time.
Do Share is an extension for Chrome that allows users to create new posts and schedule them for times during that day, the next day, or sometime in the future. You can save posts as drafts and come back to them later to post them. You can post them immediately. If you do post something right away, you can add a picture, a poll (new with Do Share), and a link if you wanted. You can adjust who sees it by customizing what circle sees it. One of the best features is that you can switch between multiple Google+ accounts and post something from each and every one of them.
There are a few downsides, however. The biggest one is that you have to be logged into Do Share, your Google+ account, and keep the Chrome browser open for the posts to go through. If you schedule a post for later in the evening and you forget and don’t have all of those pages open, the post won’t go through. That can be very bad for someone managing several clients.
All in all, this extension is useful, especially for social media optimization. To be able to schedule Google+ posts a bit in the future and work on other projects proves to be helpful. The other optimistic look at Do Share is that it is so new. There is plenty of time for the developer to add new items, tweek the existing ones, and come up with totally new features. Is Do Share a game changer? Probably not at the moment, but it could be.
